How did the first generation of people become born/plugged into the Matrix? [on hold]

What were the circumstance both within and without(outside) of the matrix when it first went online? This question is simple and points to an extremely important train of thought regarding this monumental film/analogical revelation. I can elaborate in two ways:

  1. How did they (1st generation of humans within the simulation) accept being plugged in? What where the people plugged into the Matrix as? Or, phrased differently, how were they born? Where they born as babies? Who mothered them? Did they all (all of the people in the Matrix) all of a sudden appear (at different ages/places in the world [Matrix simulation])? How did they accept this? How could they have accepted it? Humans know they don't just appear. They must be born as a baby and create their own path and their own role. They wouldn't be able to accept appearing out of thin air as so-and-so living at such-and-such with this and that and the other (life circumstances/possessions/desires etc.)...

  2. How did they (machines/robots) capture human beings and plug them in, what was the scenario? What were the circumstances that led the humans living in the pre/post apocalyptic world being captured and plugged into the Matrix? We see this world in the first Matrix movie around 30 minutes in, in the outskirts of New York.

the real question is when was the matrix created and how did the first people within it accept it as real. Did they have any memory of life before being plugged in? If they did, they wouldn't accept it and if they didn't have any memory of life prior they wouldn't have accepted it. They wouldn't have accepted it either way. So HOW does this thing work??????

= how did the first people within it accept it as real. These people were not born in the matrix. They were "zapped" into it, with identity and all to boot. It must have been that they were "zapped" in because how could they have all been born as babies at the same time? Fact: babies cannot survive on their own, even if there are millions of other babies, LOL. So is this a major plot flaw? I am surprised that I never asked this question before and after reading over several postings on this website which get into some very deep intellectual discovery, I'm surprised no one else has either.

Your 'B' question might be partly answered within the Animatrix, for the 'pre' part at least.

  • @user113769 I'm voting too close, not because the questions are bad, but because I think you should split 1 and 2 out into two different questions.

  • A) The initial group of people in the Matrix were the remnants of the human race post-robot-apocalypse. B) The machines can control memory so the first people would simply be made to remember having grown up in the world of the Matrix

If the machines couldn't control memory, why would Cypher expect to remember "nothing" about his time outside the matrix?
