Why are certain superheroes more famous and known more then others? [on hold]

Why are certain superheroes more famous and known more then others?

For example;

Marvel's, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Doctor Strange.

DCs, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Robin.

Why are these particular superheroes so very known about, yet other Superheros like "The Spectre" and others aren't known about to the point some people only think there are just these superheros in Marvel and DC and that no other superheros even exist?

    Remember ironman didn't use to be so well known

  • Honestly, prior to the MCU movies, the only Marvel heroes of those listed that I was familiar with were The Hulk, Captain America and Spiderman. I sort of knew about Deadpool and Ironman, but only in the sense that I recognized the names - I knew nothing of who they were. I knew there existed comic books about Thor, but I just assumed they were actually retelling the Norse myths (ie: not set in modern day.) Point being I don't think there's any special reason these heroes are better known than others, aside from that they've been headlining blockbuster movies recently.

  • Why are certain presidents more famous than others? Can you name all the Presidents in the world? And why are some countries more famous than others? Can you name all the countries in the world? If you are a citizen of the USA, can you name all the members of the cabinet, all the leaders of congress, the governors of all fifty states, the chiefs of staff of the armed forces, the chairmen of all 500 plus tribal governments, etc. etc.? If there really were tens, hundreds, or thousands of superheroes, would you be familiar with all of them?
