Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, brought balance back to the Force by killing Darth Sidious in the Return of the Jedi. Yet, if Darth Sidious has found a way to come back to life in The Rise of Skywalker, would this mean that the Force is no longer in balance?

there is no way of knowing what role the Emperor will play in the new film just yet - could be flashbacks or something else...

@NKCampbell Palpatine being in the next movie was treated as a big reveal - trailer time, publicity, the actor appearing at Celebration, etc. I don't think they would go to all that effort if he were just going to be in flashbacks only. They didn't go to that effort for Maul in "Solo", his appearance was a total surprise to most people. So Palpatine is most likely either alive, resurrected/cloned, or a Force Ghost, something like that would make more sense given the hype.
