Graphics of prior and posterior in the Normal model

How could I make the plot of the prior and posterior in the Normal model?
I was thinking in something like the following, I am not sure about the input in the scale parameter of the posterior distribution. Should be $(alpha+n/2,beta+(n-1)s^2+n(overline x-mu)^2)$
Could someone help me please?

beta=3
y<-dinvgamma(x,alpha,1/beta)
plot(x,y)
y1<-dinvgamma(x,alpha+n/2,beta+(n-1)*var(x)+n*(mean(x)-mu)^2)
