PTIJ: Do Irish Jews have “the luck of the Irish”?

Image
3 Today was St. Patrick's Day, and I started to think about Ireland and the Irish, which led me to start thinking about Irish Jews. Everyone knows about that old Irish luck, but I wonder if Irish Jews have that Irish luck too. After all, they are Irish, but then again Chazal famously said (Shabbos 156b) "ein mazal l'Yisrael", that the Jewish people don't have luck. So do Irish Jews not have the luck of the Irish like other people from Ireland? This question is Purim Torah and is not intended to be taken completely seriously. Variational auto-encoders (VAE): why the random sample?

Image
1 1 $begingroup$ Why do people train variational auto-encoders (VAE) to encode means and variances (regularised towards 0 and 1), and then sample a random Gaussian, rather that simply encode latent vectors and regularise them to follow a standard N(0,I), which would appear as a more natural choice? deep-learning autoencoder share | improve this question asked 2 days ago Antoine Savine Antoine Savine 116 2 $endgroup$ add a comment  |  ...
